Three months after the body of the latter man was found shot in the head, burned and dumped on freight railway lines in Brooklyn, a 19-year-old male in New York City has been detained in connection with the horrible killing of the latter man.
According to the NYPD, Isiah Baez was apprehended on Thursday at around 10:30 a.m. and charged with one count of murder, one count of weapon possession, and one count of tampering with evidence in the february killing of 19-year-old Deandre Matthews.

The second suspect in Matthews’ homicide is Baez. The 24-year-old Remy McPrecia was arrested last week and charged with concealing a human corpse and tampering with tangible evidence in relation to Matthews’ death, according to the police.
Officers responded to a 911 report concerning an adult male victim located on the freight railway tracks close to the 2200 block of Nostrand Avenue in Flatbush, Brooklyn, at around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, according to a news statement from the NYPD.

First responders found the male victim, later named as Matthews, “unconscious and unresponsive, with significant burn wounds throughout his body” when they arrived on the scene. When emergency medical professionals arrived on the scene, they declared Matthews dead.
A gunshot wound to the victim’s head and evidence of smoke inhalation were discovered during an autopsy. Matthews, who was last seen leaving his house in the 100 block of East 56th Street at around 5:45 p.m. on February 6, the day before his body was found, was readily recognised by investigators as the deceased. The following morning, just hours before his body was found, his family reported him missing.
Dajanae Gillespie, Matthews’ sister, told investigators that her brother left his job in Crown Heights around 5 p.m. on February 6, returned home, took his mother’s SUV, and then departed his home for the final time. She claimed that she and her family don’t understand why her brother was singled out for attack.
In an interview with WNBC, Gillespie said, “I want to know why [the killer] did it. “What caused this? The individual DeAndre wasn’t violent. This wasn’t done as payback. He was not wandering the streets. Using the SUV’s GPS system, Matthews’ mother, Danielle Matthews, reportedly informed detectives that she was able to locate her SUV and that it was situated outside of a warehouse that had also recently burned down.
“I’m a distressed mom. Although I have a daughter, that person was my son and my closest friend. After learning of her son’s death, Danielle Matthews told WNBC, “He made me a mother. “As a mother, I’m now in pain. My daughter has no older brother. My mother doesn’t have a grandson, and neither does my sister.
After Baez was taken into custody, Matthews’ mother spoke out against the alleged murderer to the New York Daily News.He not only shot my kid, but also lit him on fire, killing him. I’m just numb, Danielle Matthews told the newspaper, adding, “Tell Isiah to go to hell.” Although police have not offered a theory as to why Matthews was slain, according to Matthews’ mother, they think Baez killed Matthews before calling McPrecia for help moving the body.
