A 19-year-old from Academy School District 20 is officially charged by the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office with planning shootings at various schools. (ASD20). The constable entered the property after arriving and found “trash piled up all around the house to the point where it made it difficult to walk inside.” The constable also discovered “many containers filled with half-eaten food, with mould growing inside, and many empty alcohol containers lying around the house”.

The constable was shown to Whitworth’s alleged sleeping quarters, where he discovered two holes in the wall that appeared to be punch marks and the bedroom door hanging off its hinges According to the affidavit, Whitworth’s room contained trash stacked as high as his bed, a hole in the wall next to the bed, and sheets that were stained brown.

Whitworth admitted to the constable that she had been thinking of starting a school shooting for “a month or two” and that she was “about a third of the way from doing it.” According to the affidavit, churches were also targets, along with Timberview Middle School.

She responded, “No specific reason,” when the constable questioned why that particular school. Understanding the layout of the school, making active preparations for the use of weapons, and creating a manifesto were all allegedly part of Whitworth’s alleged plan for the school massacre.

On a dry-erase board with the following written on it: “Office???,” there was a drawing of the school’s layout. “Bio?” among others, “Bathrooms” and “Math.” The affidavit states that the school’s first and second floors were similarly labelled.

Whitworth claimed to have written a four-page manifesto that had “schizophrenic rants” and references to mass murderers and serial killers. According to arrest papers, deputies later discovered the manifesto during a search, which included a list of weapons and instructions for 3D printing them, a list of numerous people to be killed and their casualty versus injury rates, and information on how to make improvised explosive devices.

In the manifesto, the locations for Timberview Middle School, Prairie Hills Elementary, and Pine Creek High School were also established.Later that evening, Whitworth was taken to the Elbert County Jail after being detained on the basis of probable cause.
