Customer Rhiannon Connor reported that her dog Luna spent three weeks at Falco K9 in February 2023 before returning home roughly 25 pounds lighter. Connor claimed that when her dog got home from the South Boston dog training centre, she appeared “emaciated” and showed symptoms of acute hunger. She uttered:
Another client, who wished to remain anonymous, informed the media that she phoned the police after she discovered that her Golden Retriever Sawyer had lost a substantial amount of weight within the training facility and was covered in pee.
The alleged animal mistreatment, according to NBC Boston, started in 2021 when Plymouth resident Marjorie Ruggieri filed a complaint against the facility after realising that her dog had lost at least 12 pounds after spending 18 days at Falco K9.
Ruggieri claimed that when she picked up her Great Dane from the training facility and noticed that the dog’s emaciated body was covered in sores, she immediately reported the incident to MSPCA. Her complaints, nevertheless, apparently went unheard. She emphasised the failure of the law enforcement to safeguard animals by saying:
