Authorities revealed on Sunday that the third teen suspect in the three minors’ horrific deaths’ arrest by federal authorities. After Layla Silvernail, 16, Camille Quarles, 16, and a 17-year-old male were found shot in separate locations, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office earlier reported that 16-year-old Tahj Brewton was still at large.
According to deputies, US Marshals were assisted by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in capturing him on Saturday just south of Groveland, Florida. They did not specifically accuse him of murder. Brewton was detained in connection with his unresolved warrants for auto theft with a firearm, aggravated assault, grand theft of a vehicle, evading or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, and tampering with an electronic monitoring device, they said.

The homicide investigation is still underway, and further charges will be brought. The sheriff’s office announced on Friday that they had detained Christopher Atkins, 12, and Robert Robinson, 17, in connection with the fatalities. Agents were looking for new information regarding the Silvernail car seen on the evening of March 30 and the afternoon of April 1, as Law&Crime previously reported. According to the authorities, Silvernail was discovered dead on the side of the road on March 30. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies discovered the dead 17-year-old kid the following day.On April 1, when Silvernail’s car was discovered “partially submerged at the edge of a nearby body of water,” detectives discovered Quarles dead in the trunk.
