Kaivon Washington Wiki – Kaivon Washington Biography

One of the suspects in the rape of LSU sophomore Madison Brooks now faces a separate rape charge related to an attack on a 12-year-old girl in 2020. Kaivon Washington, 18, posted $150,000 bail in connection with Brooks’ case Thursday, was re-arrested Friday and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center in connection with the alleged attack on the pre-teen girl.

Washington and an unnamed 17-year-old are charged with third-degree rape in the Brooks case, while two others, 18-year-old Casen Carver and 27-year-old Everett Lee, are charged with beginning to third-degree rape. Washington is Lee’s nephew. He and Carver were released on bond earlier this week. The New Orleans Advocate obtained documents related to the 2020 incident.

Incident Detail

The newspaper says the attack occurred during a pool party in the town of Walker, outside Baton Rouge. In an interview with Baton Rouge-based investigative reporter Kiran Chawla, the 12-year-old victim described the assault in gruesome detail.

The now-teenage victim said that during a pool party, her friend asked her to help sneak a boy into her room. She did it by using a towel to cover a Ring camera. When the other boy entered the house, Washington also broke in, the victim alleges.

After resisting and saying ‘no’ multiple times, the victim said Washington proceeded to sexually assault her for an hour. She said that when she finished, she ‘she got up and told me to ‘go check’. The victim went on to say that she did not say anything about the attack until a year later.

In 2021, she said she described her rape in her notebook, left it on her bed, and then left for school. While she was at school, she texted her mom to tell her to go read what was on her bed. Later, her mother took her to the police to file a formal complaint. She said: ‘I feel like after they told the police they just swept it away and never kept up. I felt I would never get justice.’

It was only after Washington’s arrest in connection with the Madison Brooks case that a witness to the 2020 rape came forward, according to Chawla. The unnamed victim said in the interview: “If Kaivon Washington raped or sexually assaulted you, I want you to know that you are not alone.” I know it’s hard, but if you speak up, hopefully, hopefully they’ll put him away forever and we’ll get justice.

Not just for Madison Brooks, but for all of us that he has done this to.” Washington was on Walker High School’s varsity soccer team roster for the 2022-23 season, but graduated after half a year in December. In images seen by DailyMail.com, Washington appears to be a party boy, despite not being of legal drinking age.

Stills show him partying with friends and posing for the camera, while another shows him topless and clutching an inflatable alien. He also posted a video on TikTok where he admits that his ‘biggest fear’ is ‘not getting to heaven’, and many users comment that he has ‘come true’ since his arrest.

Washington was to be under house arrest and is required to wear an ankle monitor upon his release from prison. Meanwhile, a memorial has been created for Brooks, who was referred to by friends on the road where she died as an ‘incredible young woman’ who had ‘unlimited potential’.

Prosecutor Stuart Thiort said at a hearing Tuesday that the state would seek enhanced first-degree rape charges and plans to convene a grand jury in the case. At that hearing, the court heard that Washington filmed Brooks slurring after the assault in the back of a car in the early morning of January 15.

Louisiana’s first-degree rape statute carries a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole. A legal expert previously told DailyMail.com that the judge overseeing the bail hearing made ‘inappropriate’ comments that could ‘contaminate public opinion’ of the defendants.
