A 45-year-old Oklahoma public school cheerleading coach has been arrested for allegedly having an extended sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student who had dated her own teenage daughter. Jennifer Jean Hawkins was fired from her job and arrested this week on one count of second-degree rape and sexual assault, court documents reviewed by Law & Crime show.
According to a probable cause affidavit from the Oklahoma City Police Department, on January 27 detectives began investigating reports of a male victim who had been raped multiple times at a home located on Stepping Stone Lane. The victim, now an adult, told investigators that she began a sexual relationship with Hawkins when she was a sophomore attending Moore Public Schools, where Hawkins worked as a coach, police said.

The victim, now 21, was in a rehabilitation program in California when she wrote a detailed letter to the school district about her alleged relationship with Hawkins, according to court documents. In the letter, she claimed that she came to the Hawkins house several days a week to have sex and described her as “very manipulative and controlling,” the affidavit says.
The school then contacted police, who in turn contacted Hawkins for an interview where detectives read him the alleged victim’s letter. Hawkins initially denied the allegations, but soon she “admitted that she made a mistake and started crying and admitted to having a sexual relationship. with [the victim],” according to the police affidavit.
When asked how many times she and the victim had sex, she allegedly replied, “No idea,” which police said indicated “numerous times.” The relationship, which allegedly continued until 2022, consisted primarily of Hawkins picking up the victim at lunch, her driving him to her home, and the two having sex, according to the affidavit. In a later interview with the victim, police say they estimated that he and Hawkins had sex “more than three hundred times.”
He explained that he met Hawkins through Hawkins’s daughter, who is the same age as the victim. “[The victim] initially dated [Hawkins’] daughter and then, according to [the victim], [Hawkins] began to tempt him into a sexual relationship,” the affidavit reads. “[The victim] said the first sexual incident at Stepping Stone was in August 2017. [The victim] said she was watching a football game with [Hawkins] in the living room and [Hawkins] put his hand on her. penis”.
The victim told police that they later engaged in a sexual act and that she remembered Hawkins telling her that she “would remember that football game for the rest of her life.” Moore Public Schools released the following statement in response to Hawkins’ arrest: “
Moore Public Schools recently became aware of an allegation of inappropriate contact between an outside athletic trainer and a student that occurred in the past. We immediately contacted the Oklahoma City Police Department and a report was filed. The coach was immediately relieved of his duties.
