In another tragic case of domestic violence, a man killed his ex-girlfriend before taking his own life in the Westchase area overnight, police said. He reportedly lured the woman’s uncle out of the house before the shooting. Houston police say Milton Wayne Cole shot his ex-girlfriend in the head and then killed himself. Both were found dead in his bedroom.
Family on the scene identified the slain woman as 32-year-old Ja’Dee Turner. Loved ones said Ja’Dee and her ex-boyfriend were together for about a year and broke up less than two weeks ago.
Ja’Dee’s family said the breakup appeared amicable and there were no obvious signs that she was in a bad or violent relationship.

“This is unbelievable. This is unreal,” said her sister, Jadairria Turner. “This guy, you know, he seemed cool, but…he. You never know. He’s a costume.” Detectives said the man lured Ja’Dee’s uncle, who was staying with her, out of her apartment and then went inside. when the alleged murder-suicide occurred.
Police said it happened around 2:15 a.m. m. Thursday in the 3900 block of Woodchase Drive. Investigators said Cole had been texting Ja’Dee’s uncle and convinced him to meet him at the gate of the compound. But the police said that he never came to the door. Instead, the ex-boyfriend sat in her car, waiting for her uncle to drive off.
“It is very unfortunate what happened here tonight. But he took some time to lurk, plan this out, leave her alone to do what she did,” Lt. I. Izaguirre. “I don’t know why she would or why she would get to this level. Only they will know, and unfortunately, none of them can tell us.”
Ja’Dee’s family said she had a lot to offer this world. She worked at Houston Methodist, reading EKGs, but her true passion was her health-conscious juice business that she’s spent the last three years building. “She didn’t deserve that. She didn’t,” said her cousin, Lashee Jones.
“You can’t force someone to be with you if she wants to move on. She’s just trying to get counseling. Counseling is real,” said Jadee’s stepmother, Leticia Jackson Turner. The family says Cole was not giving Ja’Dee space and she appeared to be controlling.
They now believe that looking back, this beloved sister and daughter was removing red flags because she believed he was still a good person. Her message to other families is simple. If you know someone in an abusive relationship, don’t let it last longer than today.
