Gerard Butler recently made a $5.25 million settlement offer in a lawsuit he filed against the woman he says was at fault for the 2017 accident that left the 53-year-old action hero with serious injuries. Bulter alleged that he lost millions of dollars in “the busiest period” of his career and suffered “catastrophic injuries” as a result of running off the road.
Butler’s injuries were said to be not that serious at the time of the accident; however, he maintains in the new case that he suffered significantly. The actor argues that the other driver “negligently pulled his vehicle off the curb” in October 2017, causing him to be thrown from his motorcycle.

The driver, who was driving a Mercedes Benz, allegedly “went through the lanes of traffic directly in front of him” at the time, according to him. Butler was thrown from his Triumph motorcycle after striking the woman’s driver’s side as the maneuver reportedly did not give him time to apply the brakes.
On November 26, five years after the accident, Butler was seen riding his high-end motorcycle in the coastal community of Malibu with a couple of friends who were also riding his motorcycles. As reported by the Daily Mail, when the incident occurred, a source told TMZ: ”
Lucky for him, he has no broken bones, just cuts and bruises.” They added: “Someone called 911, paramedics came and took Gerard to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injuries.” “He really made me appreciate how precious life is,” Butler told Entertainment Tonight after the crash, “because he could have landed any number of ways that would have taken me out.”
The star, who he will soon be seen in his latest action flick ‘Plane’, spoke of “flying through the air” before crashing to the ground. “I have five fractures in my right foot alone,” Gerard told ET. “A lot of stupid stuff, a torn meniscus, but I’ll be fine.”
Butler reportedly stated in the settlement offer, which was acquired by The Blast, that he would drop the lawsuit in exchange for $5.25 million. “I’m lucky to be here,” the star said during an appearance on The Talk in 2017. “I went 33 feet through the air.” The defendant reportedly has a few weeks to decide whether or not she accepts Butler’s offer, but if he rejects it, Butler will appear in court the following month to request a trial.
