Together, the trio ran the show for two years. ‘It is with great regret that I must reveal that Gareth passed away on Friday, April 7 (Good Friday) at 6.30pm,’ Laura Richards, Richards’ wife, wrote in a statement. He suffered severe brain injuries in a horrible vehicle accident on Monday, March 27 around 11.30 p.m. The fact that he made it to the hospital alive was a miracle. Since then, the medical staff has done an amazing job of keeping him stable and sedated.

The most recent scan, however, showed that the damage was so extensive that they would have to stop giving him supportive drugs and let him go. The guys are handling the situation nicely. Richards is thought to have suffered injuries in a severe collision on the M25 near Heathrow Airport between two vehicles and an HGV. Firefighters used a saw to cut the guy, who was later identified as Richards, free from his car, and the London Ambulance Service attended to his head and chest wounds.

Since 2004, Richards has been performing stand-up comedy in front of an audience. This August, he plans to bring his tenth solo show to a festival. In addition to Frank Skinner’s radio show, he also made appearances on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, and BBC Radio 4, as well as Russell Howard’s Good News. The show must go on, and that’s what occurred this morning, said a heartbroken Skinner last week on his Saturday morning programme. “One thing you have to learn to do in this line of work is to put on a false front,” he said.

“We have been producing this show for 14 years, and when Emily and I created the pilot, it was terrible because it was just the two of us. “We had Gareth Richards as a guest on the following one. He was fantastic here, so we asked him to host the show.” It was therefore just me, Em, and Gareth for the first few years. It was a wonderful, thrilling time. He became a good buddy and helped me out when I was on tour. The two of them are quite close.

The funeral’s specifics have not yet been made public as his family grieves. As I am aware, Gareth was a beloved person, Laura said, “Details of the funeral and additional ways to honour Gareth will be forthcoming. “The grief is a lot to deal with right now.” I appreciate your warmth and support, everyone. Mary, Richards’ mother, requested her friends to “pray” for her son after the accident.

“Our lovely eldest son Gareth was involved in a significant collision on the M25,” she stated. He is currently in the hospital, and without a great miracle, the outlook is not promising. Since he is not in pain, we are able to sit next to him amid all the tubes and equipment. Please say a prayer for our family.
