Police have identified the boy who was found dead inside a suitcase and dumped in a remote part of Indiana. The boy was identified as Cairo Ammar Jordan, 5, of Atlanta, Georgia, and police are now seeking to arrest his mother in connection with the incident. Indiana State Police Sgt. Carey Huls said Dejaune Ludie Anderson, 37, is wanted on murder charges during a news conference. “This whole case is about justice for Cairo. That’s what this case is about,” Huls said, according to the New York Post.
“Justice for all means bringing those responsible for this death before the public to stand trial,” he said. Jordan would have been 6 years old on Monday, October 24. Anderson also faces charges of negligence of a dependent resulting in death and obstruction of justice, and remains at large at this time. Dawn Elaine Coleman, 40, another suspect in the murder, was arrested by police on Oct. 19, 2022. She is also charged with negligence of a dependent resulting in death and obstruction of justice.

The 40-year-old man from Louisiana was detained in San Francisco, California, and will be transferred to Indiana in the near future. The affidavit also contains posts purportedly from Anderson’s Facebook account made after she was released from jail in Kentucky on April 11 on a larceny charge that read, “I just got off a stint in jail” and ” Yes, I had to heal and kill.”
