A robber who ran out of a store knocked an elderly woman unconscious after knocking her out. The unidentified BLACK man, according to police, was fleeing a Manhattan Barnes & Noble store on Saturday, September 10 with $35 worth of Funko Pop. toys. The New York Police Department (NYPD) shared images of the incident.
According to The Daily Mail, a 77-year-old woman was knocked unconscious when the brazen shoplifter tried to leave the store. The 5-foot-3 thief in his 20s was seen running from store workers after he grabbed two of the 17th Street retailer’s popular action figures near Union Square around 12:20 p.m. revealed by the police. No arrests have been made in the case so far.

Incident Detail
According to The Daily Mail, the thief wearing a blue hoodie, gray sweatpants and gray sneakers, was seen walking around the display of Funko Pop toys before getting his hands on one from the bottom shelf and another on the top before leaving. The video then cuts to staff confronting the robber as the latter attempts to flee the scene. As he tries to run after carrying out his mini-robbery, the man knocks an unidentified elderly woman to the ground. The 77-year-old man was then rushed to Bellevue Hospital with a head injury. According to reports, he is in stable condition. The video of the incident was published on Sunday, September 11.
Police further revealed that the suspect fled south on Union Square and then turned east on East 15th Street toward Irving Place. The New York police hope to catch the thief with the help of the published images. The suspect is still at large and therefore police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers. The Daily Mail reported that overall crime in New York City topped 35 percent in 2021. Speaking of another shoplifting incident, a brave elderly woman managed to prevent a suspected shoplifter from leaving a Walmart store by ripping off his balaclava in February. of 2022.
In another incident, a frustrated Walgreens customer decided to take matters into his own hands when he saw a man steal medicine bottles from his backpack. The California man confronted two thieves in the incident dating back to March and even asked a passerby to record the incident on his phone. The client said that he took matters into his own hands because he was fed up with the brazen robberies that were happening in Northern California.
