You may remember that the police in Lagos paraded the brother of Seun Egbegbe, along with other suspects, the week before last.
The police added three new suspects to the case after reviewing the evidence and deciding to alter the accusations against the original suspect. Lawal Kareem, Olalekan Yusuf, and Muyideen Shoyombo are the defendants whose names were added to the charges after the investigation was conducted.
On the other hand, on November 23, 2016, a group of people at the Computer Village in Ikeja, Lagos State, reportedly confronted and beat up a Yoruba film-maker named Seun Egbegbe for allegedly stealing nine iPhones from a shop located in the neighborhood. However, the film director is said to have told the police officers who were investigating the incident that he had no intention of stealing the phones and that he had only stepped into his vehicle to pick up some money when the sales lad triggered the alarm. According to the information that has been gathered, Egbegbe went to the store on Tuesday morning around ten o’clock and mentioned to the sales lad that he encountered there that he intended to purchase some iPhones.
It is reported that Egbegbe left the shop with the phones while telling the seller that he wanted to pick up money from his jeep. The police alleged that on February 2, 2017, Egbegbe and his co-defendants fraudulently obtained the sums of N2.45 million and £3,000 from one Alhaji Isa Adamu in Lagos under the guise that they wanted to see the naira and buy the pounds. The police stated that this was one example of the police’s allegations.

On Monday, the charges were read to them, and all of them entered not guilty pleas at that time. The matter will continue to be heard on April 26 by Justice Oguntoyinbo, who has delayed the hearings.
