A Scottish guy who missed his trip home with a companion was discovered dead while on vacation in Lanzarote. When Robert Campbell, 44, went missing the day before he was scheduled to fly home last Thursday, he was spending his first vacation abroad on the Canary Islands.
Mr. Campbell became unwell just before the trip and was brought to the hospital. But following a checkup, it was decided that the Scotsman was healthy enough to go home. Then, just prior to takeoff, Campbell became separated from his companion Paddy at the airport and was unreachable, according to reports.

When two of them travelled to the island’s capital, Las Palmas, in an effort to identify Mr. Campbell, his family pleaded for assistance out of concern for their loved one. Margueritte Devine, his sister, revealed the devastating news that her brother had been discovered dead on Tuesday.

To aid with some of the costs of moving Mr. Campbell’s remains to Uddington, South Lanarkshire, and paying for his funeral, the family has established a GoFundMe page. Sadly, Ms. Devine replied, “Our brother passed away in Lanzarote yesterday, leaving us with a bill for £6 and a demand for £10,000 in funeral costs.
“I am writing this to reach out from my heart and help us bring him home. We are desperate to get him home as soon as possible.” The Scotsman has received praise on social media, with friends and family referring to him as “one of the best”.

We are all saddened, startled, and heartbroken, she continued. “One of our family and friends flew to Lanzarote to find him and bring him home, but unfortunately they were too late.”Another person who posted pictures of Mr. Campbell commented:
“Gutted to learn the passing of our uncle, who was reported missing in Lanzarote, he was found dead. I leave for a vacation for the first time and never return. RIP.’ Another person said: “R.I.P. One of the best is you. I’m thinking about all of you and sending my cousins loads of love.
