Police investigating the death of a mother of three who was shot multiple times raided the home of her estranged husband. Rebecca Bliefnick, 41, was found dead in her home by a family member on February 23, after they were concerned that she would not be able to pick up her three children from St Peter’s School in Quincy, Illinois.

Officers pounced on a house on Hampshire Street at 8 a.m. Wednesday, just a mile from Rebecca’s home on Kentucky Road. Bliefnick was stopped by officers outside his home and taken to a relative’s property after speaking with officers, according to the Muddy River News. Quincy police confirmed they searched the property and one person was “temporarily detained” but later released.
