Police investigating the death of a mother of three who was shot multiple times raided the home of her estranged husband. Rebecca Bliefnick, 41, was found dead in her home by a family member on February 23, after they were concerned that she would not be able to pick up her three children from St Peter’s School in Quincy, Illinois.

Bliefnick was stopped by officers outside his home and taken to a relative’s property after speaking with officers, according to the Muddy River News. Quincy police confirmed they searched the property and one person was “temporarily detained” but later released. They noted that no arrests have been made in connection with his murder and that they have not filed an arrest warrant.
Rebecca’s estranged husband does not own the property that has been raided, and it is unclear who was taken into custody by police. Concerned family members raised the alarm after Rebecca, a nurse, was unable to pick up her three children from her school.
