After further investigation, Nash County Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered that the girl, along with her siblings and her grandmother, resided in the 5000 block of Dutchman Road in Nashville. Authorities then arrested 72-year-old Patricia Ann Ricks shortly after the incident.
The Nash County Sheriff’s Office soon released a statement saying: Authorities charged Patricia Ann Ricks with first degree murder and felony child abuse with serious injury. She was booked into the Nash County Detention Center without bond. However, the police have yet to discover a motive behind the crime.
The media attempted to reach Patricia for comment on the alleged incident, but she was reportedly unavailable. In addition, the police have not revealed the identity of the granddaughter of the old woman. Upon arriving at the Nashville residence where the incident allegedly occurred, officers began investigating to find evidence.
They found weapons, but it was not revealed if they were used to hit the minor. In addition, the police did not disclose the type of weapons discovered.
