A Florida lady who was attacked by a shark while swimming during a friend’s birthday celebration off Florida’s Gulf Coast had only 14 stitches. Natalie Branda, 26, was swimming in murky waters at St. Pete Pier when she felt pressure on her upper thigh after dropping a float in the water. She told Fox 13 Tampa Bay, “I just felt pressure, and she let go, and I was like, ‘They bit me!'” “I swam faster than I ever had before to the boat.” The wounds ran all the way from the buttocks to the navel.
When Branda returned to the boat, her friends immediately applied pressure to her wound and hurried back to the pier while phoning 911. Only her stomach was visible to Branda.at the time and her friends assured her that “it’s not that bad”. “Then I turned around and everyone was like, ‘Oh my gosh,’” she recounted Branda.When they patched her up, the doctors confirmed that her injuries were caused by a shark bite. “

Ella Branda stated that she intends to return to the lake, but will take more precautions the next time, such as avoiding foggy water. “I’m not sure I’ll do what we did last time.” The water was slightly cloudy. “It was the ideal cocktail for the ideal storm,” Branda explained. “We’re breaking into your house. It’s unfortunate that this occurred, but when you come in and are surrounded by large creatures in their natural habitat, you must respect them.
“I’ll probably get back in the water, but I’ll need to recover first.” Brandon Boncore, 22, of Oviedo, was bitten two days after Branda’s attack while returning from his latest surf at New Smyrna Beach, about 160 miles east on Florida’s Atlantic coast.
Monday, Boncore was surfing near an inlet when he fell off his board and was bitten on the left ankle. He claimed he did not see his assailant, but agreed to seeing sharks in the neighborhood. A shark tooth was surgically removed from Boncore’s leg after he was transported to a local hospital. According to Volusia County beach safety officials, two other people were bitten by sharks on the same beach last month.
Florida is the world’s shark bite capital, with the bulk occuring in Volusia County. Boncore, like Banda, stated that the bite will not deter him from swimming.”I’m definitely going back in,” he declared. “I was well aware of the hazards, and sadly, it was me, but the possibilities ofit happening to someone else are very, very rare.
