Police responded to the call Thursday just before 10 a.m. The child died in the hospital. “I was definitely in shock. This is a neighborhood where we’ve been here for a year and nothing has ever happened in this neighborhood,” said Euyenia Santiago, a neighbor. “It’s very scary and very sad, because I have 14 (grandchildren) and they all come to my house and play outside,” said neighbor Ivelisse Santiago.

“Outside yesterday, I had (a) couple, bullets, bullets outside the house,” Santiago said.
