A 36-year-old Michigan man with sharp teeth is in custody after police discovered he kidnapped a vulnerable woman, sexually assaulted her for three weeks and threatened to “rip her throat out” if she didn’t do as he told them. Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson revealed disturbing details of the case Wednesday at a press conference that led to the arrest of 36-year-old Michael Barajas on December 8. he ripped her throat out during the course of her three-week imprisonment.
Swanson said that a pregnant woman in her early 20s had been kicked out of her home this Thanksgiving week. Barajas saw the vulnerable woman walking alone on the street and stopped her car. He offered her a hot shower, a bite to eat, and a place to stay. The victim agreed, unaware that she would be repeatedly raped and trafficked for the next three weeks.

Once the couple arrived at a dilapidated house, Barajas allegedly locked her inside a room and tied her to a bed. Genesee officials said they found a rope at the scene. The victims’ room had an exterior lock and all the windows in the home were bolted down.
Barajas repeatedly sexually assaulted the pregnant woman and had others approach her to sexually assault and traffic her, police said. “This guy took the opportunity to not only sexually assault, but to have people come from her and traffic her in while forcibly tying her to the bed while assaulting her,” Swanson said.
Swanson said the woman tried to escape from the locked room three times. . She first ran out of an open door during an exchange, but Barajas and the other suspects chased her, shot her and dragged her back to the bedroom. A second escape attempt also led to her recapture.
On December 8, the victim suffered a medical emergency related to her pregnancy and she was treated by nurses who recognized that the woman was in dire need of help. Swanson said that during the entire time she was held in her house, Barajas threatened to bite her with his sharp fangs.
Barajas threatened her that if she didn’t do everything he told her, she would bite his neck and rip out her throat,” Swanson said. The sheriff held up a photo of Barajas and then showed her teeth, which appear to be filed into sharp points. Swanson said Barajas groomed the woman by satisfying her need for refuge and even forced her to write a letter in which he described Barajas as “her daddy from her.”
“This guy is a monster. If you look at the teeth that are filed and the threats to rip your throat out, I won’t say more, ”he said. After nurses alerted authorities to the woman’s need, police raided the home and arrested Barajas on multiple charges, including human smuggling, kidnapping, sexual assault, possession of methamphetamine and ecstasy, and other charges.
