A new claim has been issued in an upcoming book, ‘Courtiers: the Hidden Power Behind the Crown’ by author Valentine Low that Meghan Markle threatened to “leave” Prince Harry if he did not publicly confirm that she was his girlfriend, causing that Harry “go berserk”. The book in which Low details the ultimatum he alleges Meghan gave to Harry will be published on October 6. According to an excerpt from the book, published in The Times, “while Prince Harry faced “hordes of journalists” eager to delve into the life of his new girlfriend, Harry “was determined to protect her, but she wanted them to make public how serious what were they”.

The book says: “Faced with hordes of journalists trying to track down every aspect of Meghan’s life, Harry became determined to protect his girlfriend. This is just one in the book of many reports about Meghan and Harry’s first days together before their relationship was officially confirmed in November 2016, just a few months after the duo met in July. Harry is reported to have contacted Jason Knauf, Kensington Palace’s communications secretary at the time, to make the announcement.
The book continues: “Harry called Knauf and demanded that he release a statement confirming that Meghan was his girlfriend and condemning the racist and sexist overtones in some of the media.” She added: “Meghan wanted public validation that this was a serious relationship. She was convinced the palace was unwilling to protect her from media intrusion. She told Harry’s staff: ‘I know how the palace works. How is this going to be?” play.
