Suspects in a shooting that killed a 12-year-old boy appeared in court on Monday. Two of the three suspects are now charged in connection with another murder. A detective with the Jackson Police Department testified during the court hearing that 12-year-old Markell Noah was shot while fighting with the suspects over a gun.
JPD officials had previously said that Noah died while he was playing Russian roulette. Noah was reported missing before being found dead later that day in an abandoned house on Audubon Place. Eshawn Green, ages 14 and 17, was arrested and charged with murder and evidence tampering.

Markell Noah Cause of Death
A judge set bail for each of the suspects at $1 million for the murder charge and $1 million for tampering with evidence, for a total of $2 million. The detective said Noah’s body was moved in an attempt to hide it, which led to the evidence tampering charges.
The judge set bail at $500,000 for 21-year-old Kaylan Owens, charged with being an accessory to murder. Police said Owens helped clean up the crime scene. Green and Owens, who police say are dating, were also charged with capital murder in connection with an October carjacking that killed Terrell Jenkins.
Both were denied bail in that case. Lawyers said Owens is two weeks pregnant. WAPT News is not reporting the name of the 14-year-old due to his age.
