A month ago, a man was allegedly involved in an argument that soon turned violent, resulting in gunshots. The incident took place on January 28 and the NYPD has now identified the shooter. Law enforcement authorities said comedian Marcos Cofresi was the suspected gunman involved in the train shooting that took place a month ago.
Police officers said Marcos shot a 34-year-old man in the stomach and forearm while they were arguing while riding a southbound N train. Police officers reported that Marcos Cofresi was with a female friend the night of the shooting, and the duo got into a fight with a 34-year-old man around 1 a.m. on January 28. Soon the argument turned into an ugly fight and just as the train stopped at Canal Street and Broadway Station, Cofresi fired two rounds of bullets into the man.

Because the victim was injured, he was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. The victim’s cousin said that he is currently stable and improving. They mentioned that they were shocked when they found out that the man who shot his cousin is a comedian.
According to The New York Post, they said: Cofresi was reportedly scheduled to perform at a Manhattan comedy venue on Saturday night. However, he has been on the run ever since and is wanted by the police for the subway shooting that took place a month ago.
Marcos Cofresi is a comedian and has included crime and cop content on his set on multiple occasions. On one of his sets, he joked about getting rid of the cops. Marcos Cofresi has been arrested twice in the past for criminal possession of marijuana and fee evasion.
At a press conference on February 14, NYPD officials named the comedian and appealed to the public to help locate him. More information about him was also provided and authorities said he was last seen wearing a jacket with the word “New York” written on the front. He teamed it with dark gray sweatpants and a Yankees baseball cap.
