A TikTok influencer along with her mother and six others allegedly killed a man and his friend in a high-speed car accident, a court has been told. Influencer Mahek Bukhari, her mother Ansreen Bukhari, 45, and six others have been charged with murder and an alternative charge of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the murders of Ansreen’s ex-lover Saqib Hussain, 21, and her friend Mohammed Hashim Ijazuddin.
According to reports, Hussain was allegedly trying to extort money from Ansreen by blackmailing her with inappropriate photos and videos. The Leicester Crown Court was told that all the accused banded together to kill Hussain. The mother-daughter duo allegedly asked the victim to meet them and take $3461 (£3k). But before the meeting, Hussain and Ijazuddin were chased by two vehicles and fatally crashed into a tree on the A46 near Six Hills in Leicestershire.

It has also been alleged that Mahek had sent a text message to her mother, saying “I’ll have the boys mug him soon and he won’t know what day it is” before the fatal accident. Prosecutor Colingwood Thompson KC told jurors: “This is a story of love, obsession, rage, attempted extortion and ultimately murder. A way had to be found to silence Saqib, either by causing him a really serious injury to warn him or to silence him forever by killing him.”
“The revelation of the affair could have ruined Asreen Bukhari’s marriage and damaged her reputation in her community. It could also have affected Mahek’s relationship with her father because she knew about it. Mahek was a social media influencer and had a large following on TikTok and the revelations of the matter could have harmed her position among her followers,” the prosecutor noted.
Thompson explained: “They set up a trap that appears to have been set up on the afternoon of February 10th. The idea was to lure Saqib into a meeting. Once at that meeting, he would face superior numbers and he would be expected to hand over the phone. If he wasn’t prepared to hand over the phone, they were willing to cause him serious injury, if not silence him altogether.”
The 999 call, which Hussain had dialed on the tragic day, allegedly heard him say: “Two vehicles are following me. They are trying to block me. They wear balaclavas. They’re trying to run me off the road. They are trying to kill me. I’m going to die! I came to Leicester to see one of my classmates who goes to university here. They hit the rear of the car very fast. Please, I beg you, I’m going to die. Nope!”
The February 11 incident ruined Hussain’s phone, but authorities recovered the data from iCloud. In addition to Mehek and Ansreen, Natasha Akhtar, 22, Raees Jamal, 22, Rekan Karwan, 28, Mohammed Patel, 20, Sanaf Gulammustafa, 22, and Ameer Jamal, 27, face two murder charges. and an alternative charge of involuntary manslaughter. However, all have denied any role in the double murder. “

Only when they put out the fire did they see a body hanging from the car and another body in the driver’s seat. Both were 21 years old and were identified through dental investigations. As of 9:30 a.m. the same morning, three of those charged here today had been arrested. They were Natasha Akhtar, Mahek Bukhari and Ansreen Bukhari.”
