A fundraiser organized to help Lindsay Clancy’s husband raised more than $1 million on Friday, February 3. This was after he asked the public to forgive his wife for strangling her three young children. Created by a close family member, the GoFundMe page was launched on January 27 and focused on Patrick Clancy, who is struggling to overcome the “unimaginable tragedy” that occurred on January 24 when his children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3 , and seven-month-old Callan were found unconscious in their Duxbury home.
Patrick, who was working from home that day, left and went out for 25 minutes to find food. He arrived at his family’s house around 6 p.m. m. and found his children “unconscious, with obvious signs of trauma,” according to the fundraising page. The grieving husband also found his wife unconscious outside their home and frantically called 911. Upon arrival, Plymouth Police Department officers gave the babies CPR before taking them to a local hospital, where Cora and Dawson were declared dead.

Callan, who managed to survive, was airlifted to Boston Children’s Hospital, where he died on Friday, January 27. It was also reported that Lindsay, who was reportedly suffering from severe postpartum psychosis, tried to kill herself by jumping out of a window after strangling her children.
The mother is currently recovering in a Massachusetts hospital and is being charged with several counts, including two counts of murder, three counts of strangulation or suffocation, and three counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon. The horrific tragedy left Patrick devastated, but he still stands by his wife.
Mathew Glaser, who described himself as part of Clancy’s ‘extended family’, started the GoFundMe campaign on Patrick’s behalf, writing: “This GoFundMe is intended to help Pat pay for medical bills, funeral services and legal aid. This assistance is especially needed because Pat will be unable to work for the foreseeable future as she copes with this painful and life-changing tragedy.”
On January 28, Glaser posted Patrick’s words to the generous donors who had raised a substantial amount of money within days of the tragedy. Patrick thanked the donors for their “love and support,” adding: “The warmth I’ve received from the community is palpable and their generosity gives me hope that I can focus on some kind of healing.” He also asked people to find it in their hearts to forgive Lindsay as he himself had.
He wrote: “I want to ask all of you to find it deep within yourselves to forgive Lindsay, as I have. The real Lindsay generously loved and cared for everyone: me, our children, family, friends and her patients. “The very fibers of her soul are loving.
All I wish for her now is that she can somehow find peace.” But there are also some people who wonder if the fundraiser is for the funeral of the three innocent children or for Lindsay’s legal bills. Posing the question on social media, one user highlighted an article citing the GoFundMe description, which mentioned that the money raised would be used to cover “medical bills, funeral costs and legal expenses.”
