A 17-year-old student, Jack Snyder, was kidnapped and shot by two teenagers, ages 13 and 14. The duo killed Snyder after he offered to drive them back to his house after a birthday party. He was found lying next to his car at around 12:10 am on January 17 in Battle Creek. On Sunday, February 19, 14-year-old Judge Chimner was arrested and the 13-year-old boy later turned himself in to police.
Although a medical team tried to revive the 17-year-old, he was later pronounced dead at the scene. Battle Creek Police Sgt. Jeff Case said that he had recovered a weapon from the location. “The victim was trying to be a good Samaritan by leading them through the sub-zero temperatures. I know that he resisted the theft of the car. So again, he was trying to help, but he wasn’t just going to deliver the car,” the case said.

Chimner will be charged with felony murder, carjacking and two weapons-related violations, according to the Daily Mail. Chimer will be charged as an adult and may even face a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole. Meanwhile, the 13-year-old boy has been charged with murder, according to Fox 17.
Teachers held a vigil for the boy and the funeral was held on Friday, February 24. He was in the National Honor Society and had also enrolled in an EMT program through a local community college. Snyder’s sister, Meadow Snyder, wrote on Facebook: “On behalf of my family and myself, we want to thank every single person that reached out and came to see us.
I heard from people I hadn’t seen or seen before. he listened.” in years and it shows how much support we have during this endless nightmare. My brother was 17 years old. He was supposed to graduate this year and these monsters took away his future. he was the smartest of all of us.
He was going to leave this damned place. He had the biggest heart, he cared a lot about others. They took our brother from us. It doesn’t look real, it’s all fake news. I miss him a lot. I can’t bear the thought of never seeing my little brother again. We love and miss you so much, Bubba! Tomorrow we would like to organize a memorial on the site. Everything is welcome.
