The dismembered body of model and influencer Abby Choi was discovered, and on Saturday, February 25, Hong Kong police said they had detained three suspects. Choi’s legs were discovered in a refrigerator on Friday, February 24, turning the Hong Kong town of Lung Mei Tsuen into a butcher shop.

The attack was “well planned” and “premeditated” and there were many “smokescreens” to hide the truth from the authorities, according to a police statement. The ground-floor apartment of the three-story house on Tai Po’s Lung Mei Tsuen had been meticulously prepared as a place to cut up a body, according to Superintendent Alan Chung Nga-lun of the Kowloon West regional crime unit.
He said: “The body parts we found were inside the fridge. There are two legs that belong to a woman.” He further added: “We are still looking for the head, torso and hands, which we believe have been discarded.” Additionally, reports indicate that human tissue was discovered in two pots of soup. Twenty police officers are said to have entered and exited the property while filming while investigating the scene.
The agents arrived at the apartment of the former father-in-law of the victim, which was completely devoid of furniture, it only contained a sofa and a table. Police allegedly found a meat grinder, mincers, a hammer and an electric saw at his former father-in-law’s house, which was searched on Friday.
The Straits Times reported that an underwater search will now take place to try to locate the rest of Choi’s body. The police also stated that “post-mortem examinations will be carried out later on a 28-year-old woman to determine her cause of death”, however, her connection to this case is not explicitly mentioned.
Choi and her ex-husband have two children together. She married her current spouse in 2016, the son of the founder of restaurant chain Tam Jai International, which has branches in Hong Kong, mainland China, Singapore and Japan, AsiaOne reported.
