Since yesterday, November 25, 2020, the Nocma board has reconsidered its decision, in which it nominated Hellen Buluma, Nocma’s deputy CEO, to the role of acting CEO, and Dingiswayo Sambo, Nocma’s acting DoF.Nocma Limited is a government-owned corporation that was established in accordance with Malawi’s National Energy Policy in January 2003. However, the company wasn’t officially registered until December 14, 2010, in accordance with the Companies Act of 1984.
The strategically important business is involved in the importing of gasoline, the storage of that fuel at strategic fuel reserves, and the distribution of fuel across the country. It is supplemented by Petroleum Importers Limited, which is an association of petroleum trading businesses from the private sector. It was formerly thought that Buluma, also known as a “cadet” for the Democratic Progressive Party, was a supporter of that party. From 2019 to 2020, Buluma served as the deputy chief executive of NOcMA.
Avantmalawi has come to understand that a dynamic lady named Buluma was dismissed from her post today (25 November 2020). This came about as a result of a board of directors decision that passed its jurisdiction stating that she should no longer be the acting CEO thereafter.
