Not all heroes wear capes. ‘Mary Poppins’ legend Dick Van Dyke, known for his heart of gold, was recently photographed spreading happiness and handing out cash to job seekers and the homeless in Malibu. Helping out his favorite nonprofit, the Malibu Community Labor Exchange, the 96-year-old ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ actor took time out of his busy schedule to chat with job seekers and elicited a few smiles by handing them $5 bills on Thursday, October 10. 13.
“Whenever I have some five, I come,” he told DailyMail. “However, you can’t do it all the time!” The actor was surrounded by a small group of people who seemed to be hungry for a few pearls of wisdom in an otherwise casual chat. When asked by a reporter about his charitable contribution, Dyke said he loves to see them smile.
