A Queens man was arrested for stabbing his mother to death Friday afternoon at the family home, police said. Dennis Cho, 20, faces murder and weapons charges after police found his mother, Hyun Sook Cho, 60, face down on a blood-covered bed inside the 191st Street home near Station. Road in Auburndale around 2 p.m.
EMS took the suspect’s mother to New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Queens, but they were unable to save her. “They brought her mother on a stretcher. Her chest was covered in blood,” a neighbor who gave only her name as Harry told the Daily News. “They were doing chest compressions but she was unresponsive.”

A few minutes later, officers led Cho out of the house in handcuffs, the neighbor said. Cho is also accused of beating and choking his 61-year-old father, who was also found at the home with a severed hand and injuries to his head and neck, police said. The father refused to receive medical attention at the scene.
Cho is also charged with assault and criminal obstruction of breathing for attacking his father, police said. His arraignment in Queens Criminal Court was pending on Saturday. Friday’s attack brought a bloody end to the ongoing fight between Cho and his parents, police sources said.
On December 24, Cho was arrested for punching his mother in the face and stabbing her in the foot with pliers during a confrontation a week earlier. He was charged with assault and harassment and was released without bail after a brief arraignment, according to court documents.
Harry said police officers had been to the home of the family of three for heated arguments on numerous occasions. After the most recent police visit to the home on Christmas Eve, the son seemed to go missing for a while, he added. “He’s a little off. He used to smoke pot in front of my kids,” he said of the son. “He used to walk backwards up and down the block.
