The search for Christopher Francisquini, wanted for allegedly killing and dismembering his 11-month-old daughter, entered its sixth day on Wednesday. Police have provided few details about the manhunt, but the Naugatuck Police Department said it is working with the FBI and the Connecticut State Police Violent Crimes Task Force.

The 11-month-old boy died of neck compression and stab wounds, according to the state’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Francisquini had fled Naugatuck in a gray Chevrolet Impala, police said. The car was later found abandoned on Interstate 91 in New Haven, according to police.

Francisquini may have fled into the woods after abandoning the vehicle, based on tips police received from people who saw someone matching the man’s description. Naugatuck Police Chief Colin McAllister said multiple people also reported seeing a man matching his description around 4 p.m. Friday on Quinnipiac Avenue in New Haven.

McAllister warned the public not to go near Francisquini, saying he is considered armed and dangerous. Francisquini has ties to Naugatuck, New Haven and Waterbury, according to McAllister. The Naugatuck Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Francisquini charging him with murder in special circumstances and endangerment of injury to a minor. When he is captured, he will be held on $5 million bail.

At the time of the incident, Francisquini was on special probation for a first-degree assault conviction. Police said an electronic monitoring device was cut from his ankle after the murder. Francisquini was charged with assault in 2012 when he attacked a man at a barbershop.

The assault occurred after a drug deal turned into a robbery and the victim spent several days in the intensive care unit undergoing surgery for head and facial injuries. Francisquini was later sentenced to 10 years in prison, but was released on supervised probation in 2020.

While on supervised probation, he racked up more charges in multiple jurisdictions in November 2021, including carjacking of a hospital employee and using an officer’s pepper spray to try to escape custody, according to incident reports. .

Following these charges, Francisquini was sent to prison to finish the remaining seven months of his 10-year prison sentence. He was released from a 10-year prison sentence in June, but remained jailed for the pending cases. He was later released from custody and placed on special parole June 27 after posting bonds totaling more than $375,000 for the pending cases, state Department of Correction records show.
