A woman inside a convenience store Friday night was shot to death during what police reported as an apparent aggravated robbery and homicide, and officers were searching for a person who shot another person during the parking lot escape.
Chanell Moore, 28, was shot to death in the store Friday night, police report. Around 10:15 p.m. the shooter entered Doug’s Eastside Convenience Center store at 9017 Rogers Avenue. Moore was shot during the robbery, police said. A customer who stopped in the parking lot said the shooter fired again, but the customer was not injured.

The customer, still in the vehicle, drove away and called police, according to a Fort Smith news release early Saturday. Police did not release a description of the shooter early Saturday. Ellow’s crime scene tape was around the property at 91st Street and Rogers Ave. near the Smile Bull restaurant.
Several people who gathered in front of the store on Saturday morning refused to comment on what happened. The shooter got into a vehicle and fled in an unknown direction, police said. A description of the vehicle was not available on Saturday.
