A Navy veteran was shot and killed near Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday, January 28. According to authorities, the incident occurred while he was driving home from dinner. Carl Flenoy Jr, a father of two, was with his girlfriend around 2:00 am Saturday before he was fatally shot. Flenoy was ambushed along the California Freeway off ramp for the 405 Freeway in Westchester.
According to KTLA, Jay Wilson, Felony’s cousin, stated, “As he was pulling off the freeway, a car approached them and maybe one or two people got out of the car and opened fire on it.” California Highway Patrol investigators revealed the vehicle pulled into traffic after half a dozen shots were fired at the Navy veteran’s black Lexus.

Carl Flenoy Jr was a Navy veteran and father of two daughters. He was shot and killed at the top of the La Tijera Boulevard off-ramp and pronounced dead at the scene on the southbound 405 Freeway. Wilson described Flenoy as a loving son and brother, and above all, a great father to his two children.
He said: “He’s heartbreaking because he’s a good guy.” The 28-year-old man who was shot dead was coming home from dinner. Together with his friends from Marina Del Rey, he went to dinner and according to his relatives, he was not involved in any fight that night.
The family of the shooting victim confirmed that there were no other road rage incidents prior to the shooting, contrary to initial reports that suggested the incident occurred in connection with a previous car accident, according to the news outlet. His cousin Wilson said: “There is no reason to believe that anyone would be trying to get him. That’s something that would never cross our minds.”
Flenoy’s cousin has asked witnesses to help provide information about the tragic murder. Wilson said: “We hope someone has a conscience. Someone out there saw something. Someone passing by saw something.” In the fatal shooting incident, no arrests have been made as no suspects have been identified as of Thursday morning, February 2.
