Before pleading guilty to Jagger’s murder last month, Pate and Dent reportedly negotiated agreements with the Nye County District Attorney’s Office, according to a report from Las Vegas ABC station KTNV. According to the alleged terms of the agreements, Pate will be available for parole in 15 years while Dent might be let off as soon as 10 years from now.

The jury debated for less than two hours after the closing statements before finding Mehn guilty on both charges, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The three people responsible for this horrible crime have now been found guilty of murder, and they will all serve time behind bars, Nye County District Attorney Brian Kunzi said in an email statement to the newspaper.

Kassy Robinson, the mother of Jaggers, previously revealed to the Review-Journal that her son was acquainted with Pate and frequently watched her kids and dogs when babysitting for her.According to the authorities, Pate and Dent lured Jaggers to Pate’s house where they beat and handcuffed him because they thought he had assaulted Pate’s little kid, a claim that police stated was completely unsupported.

After that, Pate called Mehn, who gave her the order to transport Jaggers to Nye County. Pate and Dent transported Jaggers to a distant location in the desert, where they met Mehn, after wrapping him in a tarp and placing him in the back of a car. The three then allegedly tortured him for several hours using a variety of weapons that Mehn brought with him.

The weapons used against Jaggers during Tuesday’s hearings included “a blowtorch, knives, baton, axe, and a shotgun,” according to Nye County Judge Kim Wanker. After torturing Jaggers, according to the authorities, they allegedly drove him about 25 miles to Cathedral Canyon, where they made him disrobe and jump from a cliff. Mehn shot him many times, killing him when he fell into a chasm.

In the early hours of August 1, 2021, a man who has not been named found Jaggers’ body. He immediately dialled 911. His fingerprints helped to identify him in the future. Within 36 hours of the victim’s discovery, Pate, Dent, and Mehn were all detained. Mehn’s trial’s sentencing phase is now set to begin on Thursday with witness evidence.

Jerry Jaggers, the father of Jaggers, has already voiced his disgust at the district attorney’s office for allowing Pate and Dent to accept plea bargains for the murder of his son, claiming that neither he nor his wife were even informed of the arrangements. A visibly upset Jerry Jaggers told KTNV, “Two of them, on the plea deals… just doesn’t make any sense for what he went through.” According to Kunzi, speaking via email to KTNV, his staff did not contact Jaggers’ parents before negotiating the plea deals because doing so is “not a right granted by our constitution.”
