Amber Lee Runao, 22, an Arkansas woman, was sentenced to 30 years in prison after she pleaded guilty to the murder of her former babysitter. According to court documents to which Law & Crime had access, on Monday, October 17, the 22-year-old admitted to the second-degree murder of her nanny Sharon Adler. Runao, a resident of Gassville in Baxter County, killed Adler nearly two years ago.
A law enforcement affidavit shows that on August 17, 2020, the defendant told Emergency Services and the 911 dispatcher that she had “stabbed” the victim “in the heart.” It turns out that Runao’s older sister is also in prison for an unrelated attempted murder. Both cases involved the use of knives. According to sentencing documents, the presumptive sentence range for the 22-year-old was between 15 and 25 years.

An affidavit also reveals that she immediately admitted her crime and told officers that she had stabbed Adler in her heart.
