“What about parents who can’t afford private school but want to make the best choice for their children? Don’t they deserve the same opportunities as their children?” she claimed a tweet. Internet users were also furious with Ravitch’s biased judgment and especially after discovering that she sent her own children to a private school. One user asked: “Then why did you send your kids to a private school?”

Another chimed in: “Keep your unity and fairness. I’ll take strong academics.” A third wrote: “Uhhhh nice try ma’am. See ya.” “Yes. School choice for me but not for you!” read one tweet. One user commented: “But why be a hypocrite?” “Cozy, glue of democracy, unifying. None of these fit into public schools. Especially since those who don’t have children in said schools pay taxes to fund them, forever,” read another. Cheep. One tweet read “Do what I say, not what I do!”
