The grieving family of a 26-year-old woman has reportedly announced that they will give $35,000 to the person who will help them catch their daughter’s alleged killer. Claire McKenna, who was Irish but lived in New York, was reportedly killed in October.
Her body was reportedly discovered on October 12 by a passerby at 94th Avenue and 214th Street in Queens Village, according to the NY Post. According to The Irish Mirror, an unidentified man attacked McKenna on October 11 very close to her home. At around 3:11 a.m., McKenna sent a message to her family, “asking for help” and “that her phone battery was dying,” said a statement issued by her family.

The statement also noted: “On October 12, at approximately 4:30 a.m., a man, fully covered in a mask and dark clothing, was caught on video pushing Claire’s body onto a dolly and dumping her body into a bush located at 94th Avenue and 214th Street, Queens, New York,” adding: “The family of Claire McKenna, of Astoria New York, is offering a $35,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction in the death of Claire McKenna ”.
According to Independent.ie, McKenna’s uncle said: “I had spoken to my brother on Monday morning October 10 and all was well. We are all devastated. The pain and sadness that my sister-in-law and my brother are in is unbearable. We live in a society that becomes insensitive to crime due to normality. There is nothing normal about this; We will never stop until justice is served.”
The NYPD is reportedly working on the case and claimed to have found prints on the woman’s left arm, implying that she used to take drugs. They called McKenna’s death “suspicious” but were also looking at the angle of the homicide. The cause of death was not yet known and authorities were awaiting autopsy and toxicology reports.
