Shauna Howe Wiki – Shauna Howe  Biography

What happened to Shauna Howe in Crimes of the ’90s, presented by People magazine? In the next episode of People Magazine Presents: Crimes of the ’90s, the shocking case of the assault and murder of Shauna Howe on Halloween in 1992 will be explored. On October 27, 1992, 11-year-old Shauna was kidnapped while walking to her home from a Girl Scout Halloween party in Oil City, Pennsylvania.

After several hours had passed, her mother called the police when she still hadn’t returned home. In addition, an eyewitness is said to have seen a man pushing a girl into a car.

What happened to Shauna Howe? Who was she?

Shauna Howe, a Pennsylvania native born in July 1981, was 11 years old when the crime was committed. Shauna was an extremely attractive and likeable young woman who, despite her parents’ separation from her, still had a wonderful relationship with both of them. Halloween was one of her favorite times of the year for her, according to her family. Unfortunately, her happiness was short-lived when on October 27, 1992, she brought Halloween.

On October 27, at 4:30 pm, Shauna left her house to go to a Girl Scout Halloween party. However, she didn’t get home until after midnight. Later that night, her mother contacted the police. An eyewitness allegedly saw a “skinny, disheveled man” violently picking up a girl at the intersection of West First and Reed streets.

Shauna’s body was discovered six miles away in Rockland, under a railroad bridge, after an intense three-day search. Authorities apparently suspected that her killers threw her into the rock-strewn tributary of East Sandy Creek from the side of the trestle.

He had sustained blunt force injuries to his head and chest, according to the autopsy. She had been assaulted before her death, authorities also found. Her injuries also suggested that she was still alive when she attempted to break her fall after being pushed off the trestle. Eldred “Ted” Walker was first considered a suspect based on eyewitness accounts, but was eventually released because his DNA did not match that on Shauna Howe’s body.

Who was Shauna Howe’s killer?

When a DNA profile matched biological evidence taken from Shauna in 2002, authorities finally made a breakthrough after years of stalemate. James O’Brien owned it. Timothy O’Brien’s DNA was also found on Shauna’s body and was compared separately.

Authorities allegedly did not suspect James because they incorrectly believed he was incarcerated at the time of the incident. They quickly established a connection between Ted Walker, James and Timothy. When Ted was arrested once again, he finally took a plea deal and admitted what had happened that day.

He claimed that they originally intended to kidnap a young man as a prank on the local authorities, but things quickly turned serious and the O’Brien brothers took Shauna away. Although Ted didn’t reveal his friends’ secrets to him, he thought that whatever they did was wrong.

The O’Brien brothers received life in prison when the jury found them guilty. Ted received a prison sentence of 20 to 40 years.

The case will be further examined in the next episode of People Magazine Presents: Crimes of the ’90s, premiering Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 8pm on Investigation Discovery.
