An unclothed California woman who fired shots at passing automobiles on the Bay Bridge last week has reportedly been charged with assault with a semi-automatic weapon and other counts, according to San Francisco prosecutors. According to ABC7 News, Sequoia Dunkinsell, a resident of Sacramento, is accused of firing into the busy afternoon traffic on July 25.All lanes of Interstate 80 heading eastward were briefly closed due to the gunfire near the toll booth.
Dunkinsell is charged with shooting bullets into the air and towards commuters, clogging the roads. About 1.5 hours after the shooting started, the California Highway Patrol took her into jail. No recorded injuries exist.Last week, Sequoia Dunkinsell, 32, got out of her car near the Bay Bridge Toll Plaza naked and started shooting at passing cars on Interstate 80.

Dunkinsell was charged with making criminal threats, firing a gun at a moving target, three counts of assault with a semi-automatic weapon, one count of careless discharge of a weapon, four counts of brandishing a weapon, one count of having a loaded weapon in her possession, and one count of reckless driving, according to San Francisco District Attorney Brooke JenkinsOn July 25, at around 4.40 pm, commuters on the Bay Bridge dialed 911 to report a careless driver on the westbound lanes of Interstate 80.
The driver allegedly pulled over on the bridge, got out, brandished a knife, and shouted at other motorists, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).According to reports, Dunkinsell got back in the car but stopped it right next to the toll booth. According to the CHP, she then exited the vehicle bare-chested while wielding a pistol and began firing into the air and at passing vehicles. Before six o’clock in the evening, Dunkinsell was arrested close to the Interstate 880 split.
The date of her preliminary hearing is August 11. The DA’s Office reports that Dunkinsell is now incarcerated and that no bail was set by the court. If she is convicted guilty of all charges, she may serve more than 22 years in state prison.
