A Montgomery man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a stabbing at a busy downtown Aurora bar Friday night, police said. Patrick Lerette, 26 of the 100 block of Sherman Avenue, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault causing bodily harm, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault on public property, all felonies.

Aurora police said Sunday morning in a news release. Police responded to reports that someone had been stabbed inside a business in the 100 block of West Downer Place shortly before 8 p.m. Friday, authorities said. A man was found inside the bar with apparent stab wounds and was taken to a local hospital. He is in stable condition, police said.
Police saw Lerette outside the store and witnesses also identified him as the offender, authorities said. Police also said they recovered a knife at the scene. No other injuries were reported during the incident.
