Baird told BBC Radio 4’s ‘Today’ program that “this is the biggest mistake I’ve seen for a long time.” She further added: “It will just, you know, very sadly, further undermine trust in the police,” the DailyMail reported. She later said: “It’s a terrible mistake to put this in the public domain for absolutely nothing and I’m afraid I think it’s as sexist as it sounds.”
Baird continued, adding: “Would we have had police officers saying, you know, if it was Nicholas, unfortunately he’s been laced with alcohol because he’s been suffering from erectile dysfunction for the last few weeks? I think not. You can hear all the police officers superiors squirming as I say so, I would have thought.”
This comes after Bulley’s family provided more information about her health issues in a new statement issued by police on Thursday, February 16. In addition, they demanded an end to “speculation and rumours” about her personal life, according to the Manchester News.
Bulley’s family statement reads: “Due to perimenopause, Nikki suffered significant side effects including brain fog, restless sleep and was taking HRT to help but this was giving her severe headaches which caused Nikki to stop taking the TRH thinking it could have helped her, but only ended up causing this crisis. “The public focus should be on finding her and not concocting wild theories about her personal life,” the Telegraph reported.
