Neurologist Ricardo Cruciani Wiki – Neurologist Ricardo Cruciani Biography
A couple of weeks after being found guilty of sexual misconduct involving six of his patients, neurologist Ricardo Cruciani allegedly committed suicide on Rikers Island on Monday morning, August 15. The New York Times stated that Cruciani, a 68-year-old doctor who specialized in treating chronic pain, was discovered with a sheet around his throat in a prison bathroom. Medical care experts arrived soon after, but Cruciani was pronounced dead about an hour after he was discovered.
A jury found Cruciani guilty after weighing all the pieces of evidence and statements for three days. In addition to two counts of rape, seven counts of unlawful sexual conduct, and one count of predatory sexual assault, attempted rape, and sexual abuse, the court found him guilty on all 12 counts. On two additional charges, he was found not guilty.

Neurologist Ricardo Cruciani Cause of Death
Cruciani was detained in the general population dormitory wing of the Eric M Taylor Center, according to a representative familiar with the incident who spoke to the Times. Cruciani entered the bathing area at 4:23 a.m., and was found dead by security at 5:35 a.m., according to a second official who spoke to the Times. The agent entered the shower area without knowing if other prison guards had visited the place on Monday morning, as they were expected to do every half hour.
Cruciani’s attorney, Frederick Sosinsky, has called for an investigation into the circumstances of Cruciani’s death and why the Department of Corrections failed to follow court orders regarding his client. The judge had ordered prison authorities to place Cruciani on suicide watch and in protective custody. “As far as we know, none of these conditions were ever met,” Sosinky said. If the order had been followed, he would have been under 24/7 supervision, even while he used the bathroom.
In a statement, New York City Department of Corrections Commissioner Louis Molina expressed sadness over the death of a person while in prison. “We will conduct a preliminary internal review to determine the circumstances surrounding his death. Our thoughts and prayers are with their loved ones,” Molina said.
Cruciani was accused of luring people in by giving them excessive amounts of medication and then soliciting sex in return. According to one lady, “he didn’t finish writing my recipes until I did something for him.” Cruciani had refuted the sexual assault allegations and, after the sentencing, his attorney, Fred Sosinsky, had announced that the doctor intended to appeal the sentence. Federal charges against Cruciani were still pending as a result of claims that he mistreated his patients for 15 years at his clinics in New York City, Philadelphia and Hopewell, New Jersey.
