A suburban Atlanta police officer was charged with kidnapping and murdering a girl who went missing in July 2022. The nude body of 16-year-old Susana Morales was later found in the woods. “Detectives and CSI responded to the scene, and the Gwinnett Medical Examiner’s Office took possession of the remains,” the department added, adding that the force was “investigating the manner and cause of Morales’ death.” Morales was identified from her dental records.
Morales’s body was found after a passerby called police and said they had seen what they thought were human remains. According to her family, cell phone images and video of her showed her walking toward her home. However, police believe that she may have gotten into a vehicle.
Bryant lived in Norcross, “very close to [the] victim and dumped her naked body in the woods,” Gwinnett Detective Angela Carter said when her arrest was announced.Bryant has worked in the Army National Guard, as a deputy at the Forsyth County Jail and in other security jobs. He was reportedly charged with one count of concealing the death of another person and one count of false reporting of a crime.
Police confirmed that the false report of a felony charge, misdemeanor charge, and concealment charge stemmed from his attempt to conceal the victim’s for a period of time between July 26, 2022 at 10:20 p.m. . m. and 1:40 a.m. m. on July 27, 2022. Police said that within this time frame, Bryant was charged with “unlawfully hindering the discovery of whether or not that person was unlawfully killed.” Police said Bryant may have had a history of harassing women.
