Melissa Caddick Wiki – Melissa Caddick Biography

The forensic investigation investigating the disappearance and presumed death of infamous con artist Melissa Caddick is becoming more complex as experts have been unable to explain how her foot became detached from her body. A forensic pathologist was unable to identify whether Caddick’s foot fell off due to ocean decomposition or a blunt force injury, according to the investigation, which began Monday morning.

Caddick’s limb washed up on a beach on the south coast of New South Wales on February 21, 2021, nearly four months after she went missing from her home in Dover Heights, an eastern suburb of Sydney. All that has been discovered about her is her foot. Meanwhile, evidence has shown that Caddick told her family and close friends that she would end her life “here,” referring to the cliffs near her home. In addition, another colleague claimed to have been forced to write a four-letter code that Caddick had instructed him to give to her brother, Adam, in the event of her disappearance.

Incident Detail

Caddick was presumed deceased, according to Jason Downing SC, an attorney who assisted Deputy State Coroner Elizabeth Ryan, in his opening statement to the inquest. However, it was anticipated that a forensic expert would inform the investigation that they were unable to identify the cause of his leg separating from the rest of his body. The revelation shocked investigative journalist Kate McClymont, who covered Caddick’s disappearance for her ‘Liar Liar’ podcast.

“Wow, the forensic pathologist couldn’t say how Melissa Caddick’s foot came off her body and it could very well be that the coroner returns an open finding about her presumed death,” she wrote. On Monday morning, Anthony Koletti, Caddick’s husband, her parents Barbara and Ted Grimley, and her brother Adam Grimley attended the New South Wales Coroner’s Court in Lidcombe, west of Sydney. The two-week inquest will investigate her unexplained disappearance and the discovery of her foot in a running shoe on Bournda Beach. Amputations are not generally considered fatal injuries with proper medical care, but Downing stated that given the odds, Caddick was believed to be deceased.

On November 11, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and the Australian Federal Police raided her Dover Heights home in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. Aside from her husband Anthony Koletti and her unnamed son, that was the last confirmed sighting of Caddick. The next day, according to Koletti, his wife went out for a walk and did not return. However, she did not report her missing until nearly 28 hours later.

The suspected delay will also be examined during the investigation. Caddick’s Ponzi scheme, which he used to finance his extravagant lifestyle and excessive spending on expensive jewelry, designer clothes, international vacations and multi-million dollar residences, caused his victims, who were mainly family and friends, to lose between $20 and $30 million. Her clients believed that she would spend her life savings on her behalf, and she fabricated paperwork to give the impression that she did.

Caddick’s marriage to Tony Caddick dissolved in late 2012 following her affair with Koletti, who was her hairdresser. She allegedly told her brother Adam about her, “If it’s all too much for me, you’ll find me at The Gap.” Another friend said Caddick had her write a four-letter code that told her to give Adam if he went missing. In late 2020, according to her friends, Caddick was under extreme financial pressure and once walked to the cliffs of Dover Heights. “If I’m going to end this, it’s going to be here,” her friend recalls Caddick telling her.
