An entertainment director and dancer who went missing after leaving a party in an Uber last week has been found dead in a hotel. Josephine ‘Josie’ George, 41, a self-employed creative director and casting agent based in London, was reported missing on Sunday after being seen leaving the West London party.
Last night the Met Police confirmed the 41-year-old’s lifeless body had been discovered in a hotel near London’s Tower Bridge. Her death is not being categorised as suspicious. Originally from Somerset, Ms George has previously worked with fashion designer Victoria Beckham and is a Guinness World Record holder.

Ms George trained as a professional dancer, gaining a BA in Dance at the London Studio Centre, while working part-time at the Fabric nightclub. Her dissertation, entitled ‘Where to What now’ received First Class honours and was published in Dance UK magazine.
Ms George helped found and choreograph the ‘Re-Form Dance’ troup, which toured the UK performing at the Six-Nations Rugby Tournament at the Millennium Stadium, at the Epsom Derby and at the Jazz Stage and Theatre. Later she founded ‘Josie George Productions’ a management and casting firm for models and actors for the Bollywood cinema.
She also set up talent management company JG Artists. Through this firm she worked on projects including the Victoria Beckham Fashion Week after-party, the Cricket World Cup Opening Ceremony as well as providing dancers for performers P Diddy and Mace at the Trap night club to the Davos Economic Forum.Describing herself on LinkedIn, Ms George wrote: ‘I am an experienced entertainment producer, curating shows and managing artists for some of the biggest clients and most prestigious venues in London and worldwide.
‘I hold the current Guinness World Record for the most people to perform Aerial Silks (thirty performers!). I have produced performances two years running for the World Economic Forum at Davos, attended by world leaders and CEOs. For five years I have curated, choreographed and produced the entertainment for Bloomberg’s Summer Party.
‘As well as working with major brands and events in Europe and the US, I also spent four years in Mumbai managing dancers for Bollywood film productions and corporate events. I also regularly contribute to Glastonbury Festival’s Theatre and Circus.’ In 2016 she was in a friendly photograph with British-Australian actor Miriam Margoyles. The caption on Instagram read: ‘When you’re complimented about the entertainment you designed by such a legend…Love this woman!’
Frequently sharing photos on her Instagram account, Ms George appeared to enjoy travelling and going on holiday. In one photo, taken in the Maldives, she posed in the sea and captioned the image: ‘Back to reality and this trip feels like it was all a dream.’ A Scotland Yard spokesman told MailOnline Ms George’s death would be investigated by a Coroner.
He said: ‘Shortly before 11:30 on Tuesday 20 December police attended a hotel in Tower Bridge Road, SE1, after a woman’s body was found. ‘The death is being treated as unexpected but non-suspicious and is being investigated ‘Her next of kin have been informed. A report will be prepared for the coroner.’
When Ms George went missing, her childhood friend Clare Linzi Woodcock posted: ‘If anyone has seen Josie George please get in touch. Friends and family are really worried as she’s been out of contact since Sunday.’ After news of her death, those close to Ms George paid tribute to her on social media, with friend Sly Augustin writing on Instagram: ‘On Monday 19th December our dear friend Josie George sadly passed away.
‘Naturally her friends and family are devastated.’ ‘Naturally her friends and family are devastated and trying to deal with the loss. We respectfully ask that her family and friends are given the space to process her passing at this extremely heart breaking time. Thank you.’
Another friend, Beej, said before her death that she had gone missing after an Uber ride home in London. Ms George’s schoolfriend Christian Lockyer said: ‘Very sad news. Josie was a school friend from St Dunstan’s.’ Enthusiastic about life and her career, Ms George’s Twitter bio read: ‘Talent Agent, Dancer/Choreographer, General lover of all things fun and funky.’
Matthew Lawton, from the National Theatre of Wales, wrote: ‘I don’t have all the words to describe how much light and love Josie George brought into my life, she was always at the heart of everything fun, causing mischief, making shows, sharing adventures. ‘Protector of the clan, it’s hard to image a world without Josie in it.’
Her close-knit group of friends and family grew increasingly concerned about her welfare when she later failed to get in touch and issued appeals on social media to help find her. Her childhood friend Clare Linzi Woodcock posted: ‘If anyone has seen Josie George please get in touch. Friends and family are really worried as she’s been out of contact since Sunday.
