A Douglas County woman is facing life in prison for the 2020 stabbing death of her husband in Douglas County. Jasmine Williams, was convicted of felony manslaughter, aggravated assault and felony manslaughter last Friday. The conviction stems from an incident that occurred on October 17, 2020 at a home on Frieda Street in Douglasville.
Deputies were called to find Darzjai Williams on the ground in the front yard with a four-inch stab wound to the left side of her chest. The doctors tried to revive him, but she died from her injuries. Agents found Jasmine Williams sitting under a nearby tree. Investigators learned that the two were involved in a violent altercation after she returned from work and her errands.

Williams pointed three knives at her husband and chased him through the house, kicking in two doors, stabbing the bathroom door multiple times and then chasing him outside, where she stabbed him with a butcher knife.
Those in the home said they tried to separate the couple, including closing and barricade the front door when her husband came out to get out of it and call her cousin to take her. While he waited, she was able to get out and fatally stab him.
During the trial, all the witnesses told the same story about how she attacked him with knives. “Our community once again faces another tragic loss from domestic violence. We need to understand that this disrupts the very fabric of our county. A family has lost a loved one in a senseless and violent act,” said District Attorney Dalia Racine.
Jasmine Williams was free on bail for two months on an unrelated aggravated assault charge after investigators say she threatened her neighbor with a knife. It is not known when she will face sentencing, but she could face a maximum of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
