Two men accused of killing a 21-year-old man last month have had their murder charges against them withdrawn by Gwinnett County police. According to investigators, the victim’s younger brother killed him. On Stone Mountain Highway, in the parking lot between Applebee’s and O’Reilly Auto Parts, Harris Baysassie was discovered last month with a gunshot wound.
Days later, Tristyn Mays, 17, and Nyzerrius Carter, 19, were detained and charged with Harris Baysassie’s murder. One of the other men’s cars, according to the police, was hit by some of the victim’s gunshots. After taking the car to a body shop to get the bullet holes fixed, the detectives discovered them.

The accusations of felony murder and aggravated assault against Carter and Mays have already been dropped, according to the investigators. Instead, Yousaf Baysassie, 17, is now facing felony murder and aggravated assault charges in connection with his brother’s passing.
The charges of tampering with evidence against Carter and Mays still stand. Mays is also charged with having a handgun in their possession while under the age of 18. The Gwinnett County Jail is housing both people. No arrest has been made for Yousaf Baysassie.
