Hallie Scruggs, a Covenant school church pastor’s daughter, was one of the six victims of the Nashville school shooting who died with the gunman. Audrey Hale stormed the Covenant school early on a Monday, March 27, 2023, killing three students and three staff members before being shot dead by the on-scene cops.
Hale, a transgender person of 28 years old, attended Covenant Elementary School in the past. After the tragedy, CBS News reported that one of the three children murdered in the school shooting was 9-year-old Hallie Scruggs, the youngest daughter of Chad Scruggs, the senior pastor at Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Days prior, on March 20, 2023, a Lamar High School student from Arlington, Texas, shot and murdered one classmate while wounded another outside the building.
