A Tennessee man has been arrested after his ex-girlfriend was found stabbed to death and stuffed inside a plastic container in her closet, authorities said Monday.
Dwayne Herelle Jr., 28, was being charged with criminal homicide in the stabbing death of 24-year-old Irene Torres, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said.

Herelle had met with Torres between 1:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. m. and 2 a.m. m. Sunday outside her Old Hickory home, where an apparent argument broke out, according to investigators.
Herelle told detectives during an interview that he stabbed Torres during the argument. Investigators allege Herelle then drove the body of his ex-girlfriend across the county to his Bellevue apartment, where he stuffed her into the plastic container and hid it inside his closet.
Torres’s parents reviewed security footage outside her residence and saw Herelle leading her away, police said. When officers went to Herelle’s apartment looking for Torres, Herelle told them she wasn’t there and he hadn’t seen her since Friday.
Torres’ father then went to the apartment and Herelle told him that her daughter was at a hotel downtown. , according to the authorities. As Torres’s father and Herelle drove to the hotel, detectives said Herelle admitted to fatally stabbing Torres.
