Christine first encountered ‘Jay’ on social media. The user used to constantly catch up with her and appreciate her. ‘Jay’ finally gained her trust and Christine even made him the moderator of the comments on her videos. In the video, she said: ”
The first red flags are during the months of conversation, not once did that person video call me, not once did he FaceTime me or give me his number.” “This person was really toxic, he kept asking me not to hang out with my peers, not to go to clubs and not to wear certain things,” she said.
Christine continued: “All the red flags were there, I didn’t think it was a catfish until my mates told me.” The 22-year-old also claimed that ‘Jay’ sent her songs and voice notes, but she rarely sent him pictures of him. She went on to add that she and her friends were able to trace the phone number that ‘Jay’ sent her.
She later explained: “The whole time she was a bloody girl.” In another video before meeting her catfisher, Christine said that she had no hard feelings towards the internet scammer and said that she would be happy to talk to her. “I’m giving my catfish a chance to talk about her life because I know she might be going through some things,” the TikToker claimed.
She then continued, “Please reach out if you need to speak to someone, you are not alone, I know what it feels like to be alone.” “My friends told me from the beginning: ‘He is not going to go out’. He was delirious, I had so many feelings of betrayal in my mind. I never thought I was cheated on until my peers woke me up from my fantasy.
I was angry, upset and confused,” Christine said in an interview with 7News. She also stated to the portal: “Basically, part of my job is to broadcast live on TikTok during the week and interact with my followers. He was always joining my live videos, so I made him a moderator, which is a role you can choose for your followers to block hateful comments.
After naming him moderator, I introduced him to my friends on Instagram.” Further, she added, “We started talking from there. I’m not going to lie, the photos of him attracted me… I found him attractive and we started “talking. He flirted with me and continued like that every day.”
“We texted back and forth for about three or four months before we made our relationship official,” she said. Christine says that the relationship improved her life. “It’s ironic to say it, but it was better than most (real) relationships I’ve been in. He was my ideal type.

He improved my life and I improved his.” She also explained: “He told me that he was in this club, so I went there, I stood outside and asked him to come out of the club to see me, but he said that he was not there anymore, he changed clubs.
