The coroner Lake County, Jennifer Banek, said the five completed autopsies found the cause of deaths were all acute force injuries.
The anguish continued Thursday night in Buffalo Grove. A growing monument was installed outside Kisliak’s house, and people would walk by, write messages and just reflect.Terry met some close family friends, who knew there was trouble, but never imagined it would end in such horror.
“Two beautiful children,” said Giuseppe Vitulli, “always happy, smiling all the time.” VItulli comforted his wife and daughter Thursday night as they laid flowers in honor of lives lost. His daughter knew the two young women who were murdered. “He was only a year younger than my daughter,” said Giuseppe’s wife, Liliya.
Her daughter rode the bus with 6-year-old Vivian and played with 4-year-old Amilia. “He loved playing with my daughter, Amilia,” said Giuseppe Vitulli. “It’s just the memories.” Police investigation reveals that Vera Kisliak, her aforementioned two daughters and her mother-in-law, Lilia, died of acute force injuries while inside the family’s Buffalo Grove home, a home the court searches. recently revealed went into foreclosure.
It is also a place that Vera’s husband, Andrei, stayed away from due to a domestic assault. Some people knew, but we didn’t know how to help,” said Liliya Vitulli. “We tried to give advice, but it didn’t work. It doesn’t work. I feel like we failed.”
Liliya Vitulli said that Vera spoke about the horror endured inside the house, including the abuse. “She only had a couple of friends, she had no family here, and she confided in my mom, and my mom told her, ‘You have to go out,'” Liliya Vitulli said. “She said that she couldn’t, that she didn’t have money, that she had no relatives, that she couldn’t, that she couldn’t leave the situation.”
CBS 2 has learned that police arrested Andrei Kisliak in September for violating the protection order. Andrei was released in October and went to court only days before the murders.
Friends said that Andrei lived here and there, until his mother came to stay with Vera and the girls. They told us that Vera felt safe with him going back inside at that time. But the presence of the grandmother in the house did not stop the murders. “Even your own mother. How can you go to that extreme? And the dog too, they had a little dog,” said Giuseppe Vitulli. “I’ve been crying all day,” said Liliya Vitulli.
As the community mourns, the Vitullis had to talk to their daughter about something they don’t understand themselves. “This morning we had a conversation, because she was asking,” said Liliya Vitulli. Police have yet to reveal what type of weapon was used in the massacre, nor where in the house the four victims were found. But they say the crime scene was horrible.
