A heartbreaking tragedy has left two children orphans after their parents died within four weeks in England. Amie Walton, 30, visited a doctor in May complaining of persistent heartburn. However, she was diagnosed with advanced stage liver and bowel cancer and she was hospitalized shortly thereafter. Her partner, Chris Mills, 42, died of a ruptured stomach ulcer while lying next to her in hospital.
Even more tragic, she was heartbroken to discover that he had died in her sleep. Walton later visited her father in Devon when she, too, had tragically died, exactly four weeks after Mills’ death. The Daily Mail reported that, at the time of her death, Walton had fifty tumors in each lung and her cancer had spread exponentially.

Her two children, eight-year-old Harry and six-year-old Mia, now live with her maternal grandmother Tracey. The two boys used to live in Birmingham with their parents until their lives were turned upside down over the course of a month. Local shopkeeper Bal Singh was devastated to learn of the deaths of his former clients and the children they left behind. To help them, he organized a fundraiser to raise funds to make life easier for the two boys.
Tracey had given her statement, where she expressed her gratitude for those who donated to the children. “I would like to thank everyone involved who is helping to raise money for my grandchildren. We have all had some very tough and difficult times of late.” She then added: “We will continue to live with them in our hearts and do our best to raise their children to the best of our ability.
Again, thanks to Bal and everyone for your continued support, lots of love.” The fundraising page reads: “Many of you may be aware of the recent heartbreaking passing of Amie Walton and Chris Mills under very tragic circumstances. Amie was diagnosed with terminal cancer and fought valiantly to the end. Her devoted and loving companion Chris spent a lot of time with Amie comforting her in every possible way.
One morning, after falling asleep together, Amie woke up to find that Chris had quietly passed away during the night. The family later discovered that Chris lost his life from a ruptured stomach ulcer. Amie sadly passed away exactly 4 weeks later. Amie and Chris have left behind 2 little boys, Harry, 8 years old, and Mia, 6 years old. Both children are being lovingly cared for by two grandparents Tracey and Ade and Sandra and David.”
“Both my brother and I, and undoubtedly many of you, have been deeply moved and affected by this tragedy as we feel a personal connection to the loss. We feel the need to do something positive for the children and hopefully be a part of something bigger than ourselves. We both hope you’ll join us in raising as much money as possible as a community and come together to put a smile on the faces of two beautiful children.

Walton’s friend Jess Davies, who is also the boys’ godmother, also spoke to The Mirror about the pain of watching the two slowly lose their mother. “When you’re growing up, you expect your parents to leave, so you prepare for it, but you never think that you’re going to lose your best friend, that the kids are going to lose their mother. Their children Harry and Mia are little dreams, They’re amazing,” he reportedly said.
